Precision in Every Millimetre: The Master Sizing Guide

Unlike mass-manufactured European lasts that force feet into rigid templates, classical royal footwear from Rajasthan is carved on symmetrical ambidextrous wooden lasts. The locally cured leather sole breathes and takes the shape of your own foot within three or four wears.

Ambidextrous Fit Philosophy

Your pair arrives with no predetermined left or right foot. Wear them interchangeably for the first gentle strolls; your stride and body warmth train each slipper to the foot that wears it.

In between sizes? We recommend the larger one if your feet are wide or your instep is high. Hand-cut leather gives a little where it matters.

Between sizes? We always recommend sizing up. Handcrafted leather softens and hugs the foot over a few wears.

How to measure

You need a sheet of A4, a pencil and a ruler. Measure in the evening, when feet are at their largest.

Phase 01

Trace the foot

Stand on the paper with your heel against a wall and your weight even. Trace the outline of the longer foot.

Phase 02

Measure the length

Measure from the heel line to the tip of the longest toe, in millimetres. Note the wider foot too.

Phase 03

Read the chart

Put that figure in the calculator. It names the size and says whether the profile moved it.

Understanding Leather Memory

Why a snug pair is the right pair

Locally cured leather does not stretch to fit; it softens and takes the shape of the foot that wears it. A pair that feels loose on the first wear will feel looser in a month.

  • Handcrafted leather stretches. A snug fit at first is normal and becomes perfect after 2-3 wears.
  • Wide feet or high arches? Size up half a size for all-day comfort.
  • Measure in the evening, when feet are at their largest.

Questions we are asked

My foot is between two sizes. Which one?

Take the larger. Leather softens toward the foot, never away from it, so a slightly roomy pair settles and a tight pair stays tight at the toe.

One foot is longer than the other. Which do I measure?

Always the longer foot, and at the end of the day. A pair is made to the longer foot; the other side is cushioned to match.

Will an embroidered pair fit differently?

Slightly. Heavy zardozi and gota-patti work stiffens the vamp, so bridal pairs are cut a little more generously across the instep.

What if the size I ordered is wrong?

Tell the concierge and we will exchange it for the size the chart gives. Unworn pairs exchange without argument.
